When you have chosen a color and you are ready to paint, put the cursor over the Painting window. As you move your cursor over the drawing, you will see the paint region under your cursor fill with stripes of the current color to indicate the extent of the paint region:
If the region is not well defined, the stripes will spill out into other areas of the drawing. If this happens, you will need to edit the region boundary lines; see Making alterations to the region boundaries.
